College of Law
Founded in 2004, it specializes in studying legal sciences in its various fields (Iraqi and comparative laws and legal laws), as well as studying supplementary materials (Islamic law, economics, and others), as well as practical application in Iraqi courts. The study period is four years in Arabic for morning and evening studies, as well as The English language subject is taught for one of the legal subjects for all academic stages. The graduate is granted a bachelor’s degree in legal sciences thus qualifying him to practice work in the legal field such as the legal profession or to work as a jurist in official and informal circles and other areas of legal work and to complete postgraduate studies (masters and doctoral degrees). Some of the college students completed their master’s and doctoral studies in Iraqi public universities, from which (1274) students graduated until the academic year 2019-2020.

Vision of the College of Law:

To be among the academically robust and internationally recognized institutions, embodying human and Islamic values.

Mission of the College of Law:

 The College aims to hold a distinguished position among law schools at the local, Arab, and regional levels by providing an exceptional environment for education, learning, scientific research, and community service.

Objectives of the College of Law:

  • To provide the right scientific environment to unleash creativity across various legal sciences through the adoption of outstanding academic programs.
  • To supply legal institutions within the governmental bodies with jurists and specialists in legal branches who possess knowledge, professional, and ethical values.
  • To encourage scientific research, provide facilities, and create the right conditions to motivate researchers to complete their studies.
  • To build cultural and scientific relationships with law colleges in Arab and international universities of high academic standard to benefit from their experiences and scientific research.
  • To make a clear and effective contribution to elevating university legal education through acquiring high knowledge and practical skills for the practice of legal professions.
  • To effectively contribute to the development and dissemination of legal culture, and direct it to serve the needs of society.
  • To ensure adherence to the ethics and values of legal profession practice.

The building of the College of Law is located in Kufa, near the shrine of the great companion Maytham Al-Tamar (PBUH).

The building area is 450 square meters and it consists of seven floors, of 3150 square meters total area, in addition to gardens and open space of 5000 square meters.

The building contains library, a court and other facilities for social and prayer rooms for students.
